Local Businesses and Community Organizations Partner to present 
Yarmouth Hometown Holidays
Celebrations begin with Small Business Saturday on November 28


Yarmouth, Maine - November 11, 2015 -- A coalition of local businesses, churches and  community organizations is pleased to announce a new holiday initiative -  Yarmouth Hometown Holidays. 

Yarmouth Hometown Holidays is a community-wide partnership that was created to highlight the wide array of holiday events and charitable activities that take place in Yarmouth during the holiday season. Yarmouth Hometown Holidays will kick-off November 28th with Small Business Saturday activities that are being held at a number of Yarmouth businesses toencourage shoppers to support their small, local businesses. Throughout the month of December, Yarmouth will host a series of events and activities that celebrate the spirit of the season. 

These include but are not limited to:

* November 28th- Small Business Saturday hosted by the Yarmouth Chamber of  Commerce

* December 5th- Annual Holiday Craft Fairs presented by the North Yarmouth Academy  Parents' Association, The Yarmouth History Center, and local church organizations

* December 5th- The 35th Annual Yarmouth Hometown Holidays Carol Sing and Tree  Lighting hosted by Yarmouth Community Services, Yarmouth High School Band and  Chorus, Yarmouth Rotary and Yarmouth Lions Club

* December 9th- 16th Annual Boast & Toast Silent and Live Auction hosted by the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce

* December 18th- Songs of the Season, A holiday concert presented by 317 Main Community Music Center at First Parish Congregational Church


Yarmouth Hometown Holidays builds on long-standing traditions in Yarmouth. "We wanted  to make it easier for people to participate in all that Yarmouth has to offer this time of year,"  said Andrew Smaha, Executive Director, Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce. To accomplish that goal, the Chamber has created a master "Yarmouth Hometown Holidays" online calendar  that includes a complete listing of all seasonal events. In addition, the community is invited to check out and participate in the new  Yarmouth Hometown Holidays Facebook page where they'll find the latest holiday events and deals and post their own holiday reflections.

only for lots of Yarmouth businesses and residents, but also for friends and neighbors from far and wide who love holiday traditions, local products and the special home-town experiences you can't find just anywhere," said Smaha.


Yarmouth Hometown Holidays takes place in a warm and welcoming quintessential New
England-style village comprised of a Main Street with a combination of old homes and small
businesses, a beautiful parkway along the picturesque Royal River, a sheltered port in Yarmouth Harbor offering waterfront activities, a diversified commercial base along US Route One, as well as housing in waterfront, rural, suburban, and historic settings.
