Annual Meeting 2012
On May 22nd, Rollingwood neighbors filled the all-purpose room of the French International School for the annual meeting of the Rollingwood Citizens Association. | Fritz Hirst, RCA President, welcomes neighbors and discusses projects and priorities. |
RCA BUSINESS
Gilda Zimmet guided the membership through election procedures. The membership elected the following neighbors to three-year terms on RCA's Board of Directors: Sue Ducat, Gaby Gandal, Mike Hottel, Florence Lourie, and Ganon Rich. The board is very pleased to have the leadership of returning board members as well as Mike and Ganon, who joined the board as newly-elected directors. CHEVY CHASE LAKE | | RCA Board Member Ganon Rich discusses Chevy Chase Lake. |
Ganon Rich discussed the current status of the Chevy Chase Lake project and the work of the Connecticut Avenue Coordinating Committee - the coalition of communities in our greater area. Ganon explained that the Planning Board staff is expected to release preliminary recommendations in the near future which will be followed by additional public participation opportunities. A highlight of the evening was a legislative and community update from the entire District 18 legislative team. Each of our four legislators reviewed the recent session in Annapolis and took questions from the audience. It was a very lively and wide ranging discussion covering prominent fiscal and social policies as well as local issues. RCA is pleased to provide this opportunity for our membership and we are grateful for the participation of the District 18 team.
COMMUNITY WELCOME SIGN PROJECT
Finally, the annual meeting included presentation of three design alternatives for the Rollingwood "welcome sign" project. Fritz Hirst reviewed posters featuring three design options for consideration by the membership. RCA will continue to reach out to the community prior to a vote by the membership on the preferred design. See the designs up close and provide feedback here! | |
