Annual Meeting and Officer Elections To Be Held
Wednesday, August 29, 2018

Dear Community Action Colleagues-

Denver is just a week away and I wanted to reach out with a reminder about the Annual Member Meeting and election process.  We are in an election year and we have had some questions about the proxy process.

1) Reminder of the details:

Annual Meeting: The Annual Meeting of the Community Action Partnership will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the Sheraton Denver Downtown in Denver, CO at 11:00 MT in the Plaza Ballroom.

Election Notice: Election of Officers will take place on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm MT in Governor's Square 17 in the Plaza Building on the Concourse Level of the Sheraton Denver Downtown in Denver, CO.

The room locations will also be identified in the Convention App and will be posted in the Community Action Partnership's Annual Convention Registration area.

2) Slate and Rules for Proxy Voting

Materials:
  • Slate of Officers for the 2018 Election of the Community Action Partnership can be found here;
  • 2018 Proxy and Voting Procedures can be found here;
  • Proxy Designation Letter Instructions can be found here; and
  • Process for State and Regional Resolutions can be found here.
You may recall that at the time of the official meeting notice (sent via email and snailmail), there were no candidates for Treasurer.  We are happy to say that as of August 20, 2018, two candidates have submitted their names and required documentation to be formally added to the slate as candidates for Treasurer.  They are:

  • Dreama D. Padgett, CCAP, CPA, Executive Director, MountainHeart Community Services, Inc. Matheny, WV

  • Jay G. Doman, CCAP, CPA Executive Director, Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership, Inc. (EICAP), Idaho Fall, ID

You will be able to meet Dreama and Jay and all the candidates at the convention in Denver.  We will host a meet and greet on Tuesday, August 28th at 4:00 in Plaza Ballroom D.  Join us!

Please read the 2018 Proxy and Voting Procedures carefully. All procedures will be strictly adhered to at the Annual Convention. Voting cards will be issued to Community Action Partnership members and to those holding acceptable proxy letters throughout the entire duration of the voting.

Still interested in running for an officer position? As per the Community Action Partnership bylaws, "additional names shall be placed on the ballot at the Annual Meeting, providing the candidate desiring to be nominated for any office secures a written petition with at least fifteen (15) signatures of members in good standing in the Partnership and residing in at least five (5) different regions endorsing his/her candidacy. This petition must be presented to the Chair of the Nomination/Elections Committee not later than 6:00 p.m. on the day preceding the day set for the election to take place. No person may be placed on the ballot for more than one (1) office."  If you would like to be nominated for the Treasurer (or any officer position) at this stage, please complete the above and email Karen Swenson, Nominations/Elections Committee Chair at [email protected]
