St. Rose School
St. Rose Report for October 1, 2017
Dear St. Rose Families,

Sorry for the delay in your weekly report. We wanted to be sure to get some of the PTO information in the letter for you. More information will come out from PTO next week. Be sure to check the school monthly calendar on our website. It is a great tool for keeping track of when things are due as well as when our special events occur.

Knights' Color Run Reminders:

Please send in your child's hot pink jog-a-thon form on Monday. The committee may be sending it back home with the number of laps on Monday. Your family has the rest of the week to collect their pledges. The forms and pledge sheets are due completed with all donations by Monday, September 9.

Blessing of the Animals:

We encourage all students and parents to join us at 7:50 sharp under the covered area on Wednesday, October 4. We will have a special blessing of the animals ceremony in honor of St. Francis Assisi's Feast Day. Pets should be in cages or on leashes for the protection of our students and all the visiting pets. Pets must go home with parents after the blessing so not to disrupt the learning environment.

School Appeal Information:

We still need volunteers to bring food, especially ham, and serve breakfast and attend Mass for this event. Children who wear their uniforms to any of the 4 parishes this weekend can earn a free dress pass. Parents earn a share hours for their participation in Mass, bringing food, or serving at this event. Our goal is to raise $40,000 this year. Please help us with this important event and sign-up.
Conferences Information:

Remember, we have conference this week. Please only sign up with one family per time slot. The 2 slots are so families with multiple guardians can sign up everyone for the same time.
Conference Dates:
Wednesday, October 4 - 1:00 -4:00
Thursday, October 5 - 1:00 - 5:00 & 6:00 - 8:00

Middle School students should attend their parent teacher conferences. Parents of primary children should check with their homeroom teacher to find out if their child should attend.

Yours in Christ always,

PTO Meeting
Thank you to all those who attended the PTO meeting. We did a lot of planning for the Monster Mash and started the formation of the St. Rose Sports Strategic Planning Committee. PTO minutes will be attached to our next St. Rose Report.

If you would like to be on the Sports Strategic Planning Committee. Please email cstrader@strose-school.org by Friday, October 6 at 3:00 PM. The committee will begin meeting soon.

Last Chance for Spirit Gear Orders

PTO said they will be placing the Spirit Gear Order today. Please make sure your payment and order form are turned into the office by 9:00 AM.

Congratulations to all of our St. Rose School alumni! Their accomplishments remind us that every student at St. Rose is college-bound and it's never too early to start thinking about college-readiness. If you are interested in starting the conversation, we are eager to help!
For example, did you know that the Washington Student Achievement Council has a College Bound Scholarship program for students in 7th and 8th grades? For more information, please check out the link below.

Thank you so much to all of our wonderful volunteers this year and especially to Mrs. Lisa Nippert for all of her hard work organizing the event and her amazing Jog-a-thon committee members Rebekah Kelly and Kelly Clary.
