IT'S HERE!!! Our Annual Canadian Skating Event!
Meet us at Kettler Capitals Iceplex Sunday, March 11th for an hour of open ice-time for ONLY US CANADIANS! Check-in starts at 10:30am and skating starts at 10:50am, followed by lunch, friendship and activities for the kids in the private "Arlington Room". Skate rentals are included (but helmets are not available, so bring your own!).

Military Family Services and the Embassy Staff Fund are teaming up to provide an opportunity to get to know each other, and make new friends with other Canadians in our community (military and non-military alike). Developing a peer-support network is so critical to your health and happiness while OUTCAN, so come ready to mingle!
Parking is available (above ground mall parking) for a nominal fee ($1-$3).

Please bring 1 item per family to help support "Martha's Table" ( www.marthastable.org ), a local charity that has worked to support stronger communities by improving access to quality education, healthy food and family support for over 35 years. They are in need of:
  • Canned items (vegetables, fruit, soup, beans), and dry goods (such as beans, brown rice, whole grain elbow macaroni, spaghetti, and cereal).

If you would like a babysitter for your kids during the skating portion of the event, let us know at mfs.washington@cfmws.com (include the child's name and age). I'll do my best to make arrangements!
We need volunteers! If interested, email mfs.washington@cfmws.com.
Spots for this event are limited and RSVP is required by March 9th, so sign up NOW!!

A BIG thank you to all who took the time to participate in our Norfolk, Fort Meade, and greater DC area community forums!!! Your voice matters, and we will shortly be tabulating all of the results to modify our planning for the coming year. Our program has a long way to go, and your feedback and opinions will help us get there! Winners of our 2 prizes will be determined next week - watch the next newsletter for the outcome!
