Over 7000 walkers and teams turned our new walk site on Oak Hill in Piedmont Park into a sea of team tents, with a rainbow of team t-shirts, picnics and a grand celebration! An empowering day of hope and passion showing Atlanta Cares and Lupus Matters!

To date we have raised over $471,000 and we can be the first LFA Walk to raise half a million dollars for the fight to end lupus!
In our past walks, 10% of our Walk total was raised after walk day! We can do this and ensure the Chapter continues to provide and expand the only valuable statewide resources reaching new patients and communities!

Reaching New Communities and New Patients
Our walkers and teams came from all over the state with many of our statewide support groups hosting teams, the Albany and Savannah Support Groups travelled over 6 hours and the Cherokee Support Group was the first support group to raise over $10,000 with 40 walkers.
For many who have felt alone living with lupus, Walk Day was a first time experience of a citywide recognition of the empowering fight against lupus! We so look forward to engaging many new families and volunteers living with lupus in our upcoming programs and events!

Join us at the Waverly Renaissance Hotel at Cumberland Galleria on Friday, May 10th from 6-8 p.m. for a World Lupus Day Celebration. Purple cocktails will be served at a cash bar. Entertainment will be provided by nationaly renowned violinist and lupus thriver, JoAnna Johnson, pictured right.
