Happy Holidays! I hope you're able to take extra time to enjoy this special time of year with friends and family (and eat good food).
2017 has flown by, and it is hard to believe I am at the end of my year as your GMAR Chairman. I would like to give a special "thank you" to the GMAR staff for their support this year. One thing I have learned while networking with brokers from other parts of the country is that many boards do not have an expert staff that is dedicated to their success in the same way as ours! This is something we can truly be thankful for at this time of year. I would also like to thank our Board of Directors for good discourse throughout the year. We moved forward on some very important issues to our industry and local market.
I hope you're able to join me in welcoming incoming Chair Vickie Kelsall at the Hyatt this Wednesday evening for the Holiday Party!

Listed below is an example of another annoying scam that is going around. Although this email comes from a "Theresa Baugh," the current scams going around come from different agents from all over the country. We have not heard of any of our members falling victim to these scams, perhaps because they have become so common place, like the Nigerian Prince that wants to give you millions of dollars. However, scams evolve and become more sophisticated. Please keep the GMAR apprised of any scam emails you receive and we'll alert the members.

Thank you for your email, this is a scam of some sort, please do not open anything as I did not send you an email!
If you would, please contact your Board of Realtors and ask that they send out a group email to your agents in your area, as it appears this was sent out possibly to your entire board as well as all over the country.
I have received more than 500 emails/text and emails from agents that received this same message.
This now has been going on for more than two weeks.

MMAC UNVEILS INTERACTIVE SCHOOL QUALITY MAP
The Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC) unveiled an online school quality map for all Milwaukee County schools receiving public funds. The map provides an interactive, transparent tool for the community to identify and quantify success and areas in need of improvement in our region's publicly funded schools.
