The other night, I was leading our Thursday night bible study and I said, "there are some 200,000 people within a 5 mile radius of this facility that do not know Jesus Christ". Then I paused and asked, "Have you heard me say that before?" There was a resounding YES! I thought to myself, Good! If we are to have a heart for God in this community we must never forget that. It might be overwhelming, it might be intimidating but I hope it drives us to walk across the street or down the sidewalk a few steps and have a conversation with our neighbors. I didn't say "witness" to them, I didn't even say invite them to church. I hope we simply begin by intentionally getting to know our neighbors and genuinely liking them. As they begin to occupy our thoughts and our time, we begin to pray for them more specifically. So, I encourage you this Easter season, as we anticipate the celebration of the greatest day in history, will you do the mighty but small work of being a good neighbor?
Discovering the Real Jesus
This Sunday, we continue our series Discovering the Real Jesus. We will take a closer look at Jesus' claim that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. In John chapter 14 we see Jesus encourage His disciples as He prepares for His immanent death. See you Sunday! - Pastor Kris
