Wheatland, Missouri (September 7, 2016) - Anticipation is building for one of the biggest Street Stock races in the Midwest, next month's Big Buck 50 Presented by Whitetail Trophy Hunt at Lucas Oil Speedway.

The big two-night show, Oct. 7-8, will be run in conjunction with the 3rd annual Lucas Oil MLRA Fall Nationals. Winner of the Oct. 8 50-lap feature for Carson's Corner NAPA Street Stocks will collect $5,000 - plus a free entry in the Whitetail Trophy Hunt which has a $15,000 first prize.

Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Dan Robinson said that the Big Buck 50, giving the Street Stocks extra money and exposure, proved to be one of the most-popular races of the season at Lucas Oil Speedway when it debuted a year ago.

"This race gives our Street Stock drivers an opportunity to not only compete for extra money but also get the big-race exposure that's often only associated with the Late Models," Robinson said. "We're thrilled to have Whitetail Trophy Hunt returning as the presenting sponsor and we expect a deep field of Street Stock competitors from all over the country for this race."

Opening night will see a special qualifying session to set the field for 10-lap heat races. Those results will help determine the feature starting spots for the 50-lap feature the next night.

Tony Jackson Racing is sponsoring a $500 Fast Qualifier Award and James Ray of Ray's Lake Service is sponsoring a $500 Hard Charger Award.

"We build a handful of Street stocks and they've had pretty good success," Tony Jackson Jr. said. "It's a good class and we just wanted to give back to it a little bit.

"A lot of those guys pull a long way to race and it's a pretty big race for those guys. It's very competitive. They put on some of the best racing out there."

Derek Brown, driving a Tony Jackson Racing Street Stock, won nine features and the 2016 season championship  at Lucas Oil Speedway.

James Ray of Ray's Lake Service, which is located in Lake Ozark and specializes in boat lift installation and repair said he's closely followed the Street Stock division as a sponsor of Lucas Oil Speedway regulars Kenny Carroll and Craig Danuser.

"I've been around racing all my life," Ray said. "I really enjoy watching Kenny and Craig race and I just enjoy all the people there at the speedway."
