A Simple Supper with Dr. John Jung
Our dinner with Dr. John Jung last Sunday was delightful! He shared many wonderful stories about growing up in Macon, Georgia, where his family were the only Chinese in the small Southern town. We can't wait to pick up his memoirs!
And dinner at Forbidden City was quite a treat -- make sure you try this terrific local restaurant, which specializes in traditional Chinese cuisine and Japanese sushi.
We were honored to be the bookseller at this very unique event. We have signed copies of all of Dr. Jung's books for sale, on sale every day at 10% off!

Children's Book Week
May 7-13, 2012
Each year, books for young people and the joy of reading are celebrated for one week in May with author and illustrator appearances, storytelling, parties, and other book-related events. Libraries, bookstores, museums and schools everywhere will have all sorts of fun things to do for you and your little readers!
A full nationwide events calendar can be found
here. The pinnacle event will be the Gala that celebrates the 2012 Children's Choice Book Awards! It's the only national child-chose book award program, and it's a great way to give kids a voice in the books they read -- Kids can click here to vote! We will have events at the store to celebrate, but here are some ideas for you and your kids to celebrate Children's Book Week at home or in your classroom. Watch for the next newsletter and stop by the store to find out how we'll be helping share our love of reading with kids!
For every $50 you spend in the Kids section at our store during Children's Book Week, you will receive a $5 gift certificate!
