Alliance Heads to State of the State
Gov. Rick Snyder will deliver his fifth State of the State address on Tuesday, January 19, at the State Capitol in Lansing, and members of the Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance will be there as it unfolds. The Alliance, which represents more than 6,500 businesses across eight Northern Michigan chambers and six associate chambers, has a full two-day schedule of activities and meetings to lay out its 2016 legislative priorities for state lawmakers.

Besides taking in Gov. Snyder's address, Alliance members will meet with several elected officials and their staffs, host a luncheon for the governor's and lieutenant governor's staffs, and hold a breakfast meeting with legislators based in Northern Michigan. These face-to-face gatherings with state lawmakers have been an effective tool for advancing the Alliance's legislative agenda, and participants look forward to more productive sessions this month.
