TVL Welcomes New Zealand Incubator Executive

This past spring, TVL had the privilege of welcoming Mark MacLeod-Smith for a month to assist with the Global Venture Labs Investment Competition. Mark is a Market Validation Executive at the ICEHOUSE startup incubator in Aukland, New Zealand, which Forbes recently named as one of the top 10 technology incubators in the world. Since its inception in 2001 the ICEHOUSE - a collaboration between the University of Auckland Business School, The Boston Consulting Group, Telecom and Gen-i, Ernst & Young, HP and Microsoft - has launched 75 technology companies and has raised $50 million for them through its angel-investor network, the largest in New Zealand. Glitterati include Nexus6, of Auckland (U.S. offices in Franklin, Ohio), which has developed software and small hardware to monitor asthma patients in real-time, and M-Com, maker of mobile-banking software, also in Auckland.
