Dear Girl Scout Family
Staff are in the season of preparation -- getting things ready for the next membership year. I thought you might enjoy an update this week about some exciting changes we have for 2013-14.
The big news comes from our Product Sales department. Vickie and her team are working on the 2014 Cookie Sale. Two big announcements to share right now:
One: Cranberry Citrus Crisps: ABC Bakers announced a new cookie is coming for the 2014 Girl Scout Cookie Sale. "A crispy cookie, made with whole grain, fully of tangy cranberry bits and zesty citrus flavor." Cranberry Citrus Crisps will sell for $4 per package.
Two:
Lakes and Pines has is pleased to announce we have been selected as a pilot council for the Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Shortbread Cookie! This cookie will sell for $5 per package.

Other projects happening right now ...
Program and Events Guide: chock-full of day, overnight, and travel activities for girls. Plus, registration forms to rent Lakes and Pines camps for your next troop or service unit event and more... Scheduled for publication on our website in mid-late August.
Volunteer Essentials: the "go to" publication for all things Girl Scouting for volunteers. This year we're integrating into our training program for new volunteers!
Connections newsletter: back to troop news and updates for Girl Scout families. Scheduled for print publication in August.
Fall recruitment: When a girl says, "I can't wait to," you know that what's coming next is something she's excited about. Whether she's talking about tomorrow's field trip or the big game next Saturday, that wide-eyed anticipation is one of the best parts of childhood. This year's recruitment campaign theme for girls K-5 is "I can't wait to..."

Girl Scout Summer Fun!
Join local Girl Scouts for some fun in the sun this summer! We will go swimming, learn about bugs and visit the zoo! Each Session will be held at a different location with our final session in St. Paul. Girls will also plan part of our last session-they will be in charge of deciding how we will spend the day. At every session, snack will be provided. Each girl will receive a patch and get to see what being a Girl Scout is really like!

Corporate & Foundations Specialist
responsible for the research, writing, and tracking of funding proposals designed to generate revenue, meet all council funding goals, while building and maintaining successful partnerships with businesses, corporations, foundations, government institutions, United Ways, and Girl Scouts of the USA; and providing support to the council's overall fundraising program. Responsible to meet the council funding goals. The Corporate and Foundation Specialist works collaboratively with regional team(s) to promote the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to grow and sustain membership.

Volunteer Opportunity
Girl Scout Week at Casa Guadalupe Camp- Cold Spring, MN | Adults or Program Aides | July 29-Aug 1 | 12:30-3:30pm
Volunteers are needed to help facilitate activities, supervise youth, and create a positive environment for learning! The programming will focus on the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) areas. Come help for the day, or all week!
