Training Programs
Reminder to all Trainers (formerly: Instructor Trainers)
All current Trainers must attend a Trainer Mandatory Update Clinic by December 31, 2018. There are two remaining Trainer Mandatory Update Clinics scheduled for 2018. The first is in June (Calgary) and the second is in November (Edmonton). Course information and links to registration are provided below. If you have already attended a Trainer Mandatory Update Clinic please disregard this reminder.
Trainer Courses (formerly: Instructor Trainer)
May 11-13, 2018 (Host: City of St. Albert - Fountain Park Recreation Centre)           Register
September 21-23, 2018 (Host: Town of Okotoks - Okotoks Recreation Centre)         Register
Trainers are responsible for preparing candidates to assume leadership roles as Lifesaving Society Instructors, Examiners, and Coaches. Trainers are responsible to teach, evaluate, and certify candidates for Lifesaving Society Instructor, Examiner and Coach certifications in the topical streams in which they are appropriately qualified. They may be appointed as a Mentor.
Prerequisite(s):  Application, leadership experience, current Lifesaving Instructor.
Candidates must complete the Course/Clinic Application Form and forward to the Society's office for approval prior to registering for course.

Society Welcomes New Governor
The Lifesaving Society is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Barbara Costache as Governor for Alberta and Northwest Territories Branch. Barb is the first female Governor for the Branch. For more details please view the appointment notice.
Water Smart Coordinator
The Lifesaving Society is seeking a summer student for the role of Water Smart Coordinator. The Water Smart Coordinator will assist in the promotion and delivery of the Society's Water Smart public education programs. For more details please view the job posting.

Lifesaving Sport
Registration for Officials and Volunteers Open for the 2018 Canadian Surf Lifesaving Championships
Officials and volunteers interested in participating at the 2018 Canadian Surf Lifesaving Championships must complete this registration form before August 10, 2018. For more information, please contact [email protected] .
The CSLC will be held August 24 - 26, 2018 in Quebec.
Register for the 2018 Alberta and Northwest Territories Pool Lifesaving Championships and Junior Games
Registration is open for the 2018 AB/NWT Pool Lifesaving Championships and Junior Games in Lethbridge from April 13-15, 2018. Please register your club athletes and coaches as soon as possible at www.lifesaving.org . These Championships are open to affiliate lifesaving clubs and registered athletes from across Alberta and the Northwest Territories.
