The 2017 Gathering of Nations PowWow is another new and exciting adventure in the life and legend of this great event!
As many of you know the Gathering of Nations contract with the University of New Mexico was terminated. For a few short weeks people all over the world were wondering the fate of the Gatherings. There were many offers from Cities, Tribes, and great venues throughout the U.S.A. and even Canada.
After listening to the many offers, our decision was right in front of us. There is no place like home! We made the decision to keep the Gathering of Nations PowWow in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The many friends and relationships, both personal and business, were too great to leave behind. New Mexico has a great native spirit which is welcoming to all who visit our great State of New Mexico.
Since the announcement, we have worked tirelessly each day to bring forth the very best event possible. With the energy of the EXPO New Mexico State Fair teams, the City of Albuquerque and our own teams, the energy in production has been fantastic. For all of you who are coming to Albuquerque, we hope that you come to the PowWow Grounds and experience the new environment and the very friendly atmosphere. We thank all of you for your support and really hope you come to the Gathering of Nations Pow Wow.

My Brother's Keeper Alliance (MBK Alliance), in cooperation with Gathering of Nations PowWow, are thrilled to invite you to the MBK Alliance Youth Summit on April 27th.
This event will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. MDT at Warehouse 508 located at 508 1st Street NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
MBK Alliance is an independent, nonpartisan 501(c)(3) born out of President Obama's call to action to ensure all of our nation's boys and young men of color have equal opportunity to achieve their full potential.
In its 34th year, the Gathering of Nations PowWow and Miss Indian World Pageant have grown to be one of the world's most recognized annual festivals celebrating Native culture. This year, MBK Alliance is excited to hold their Youth Summit during this important season.
The jointly held Summit will provide a space for Native youth to convene and connect around promising solutions. Designed for young men between the ages of 16-25, the Summit integrates cultural pride and empowerment and builds on what is working for young people residing in Indian Country.
During the four-hour theme-based conversation, attendees will have the opportunity to dialogue with each other, while promoting and celebrating the importance of community engagement and civic leadership.

POWWOW TIP:
We suggest that you arrive early in anticipation of heavy traffic and ALL BAGS AND OTHER ITEMS WILL BE SUBJECT TO SEARCH AS YOU ENTER THE POWWOW GROUNDS AT EXPO NM FOR THE GATHERING OF NATIONS. This is to ensure the safest environment for everyone attending.

DIRECTIONS: HOW TO GET TO EXPO NM & ALBUQUERQUE CONVENTION CENTER

Expo NM is located between Lomas Blvd and Central Ave & San Mateo Blvd and Louisiana Blvd. - Getting to Expo NM for the Gathering of Nations: Exit I-40 at Louisiana Blvd, go South on Louisiana Blvd, Cross Lomas Blvd and enter GATE 7 & 8 for Parking, Ticket Office & Event Entrance. OR Exit I-40 at San Mateo Blvd, go South to Lomas Blvd, Turn Left onto Lomas, then make a right turn at Louisiana Blvd and enter GATE 8. THERE WILL BE CITY WIDE CONSTRUCTION ON CENTRAL AVE (on the South side of Expo NM), we STRONGLY encourage everyone to avoid Central or give yourself more time for traffic delays.

Albuquerque Convention Center- Kiva Auditorium is located at 401 2nd Street NW (Downtown) Albuquerque, NM 87102. - Getting to the ABQ Convention Center for Miss Indian World Traditional Presentations: Exit I-25 (South of the Interchange) at Martin Luther King Avenue. Head West on Martin Luther King Blvd. until you hit the cross at Broadway, drive up the bridge and enter on the left hand exit which will take you to the Convention Center Parking structure.
