Bio

Toni Carroll is the Director of Quality for Graniterock Company and manages the quality program for all of the company's 17 asphalt, concrete, and aggregate plants in the San Francisco Bay area.  She earned a bachelor of science in Mining Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla and a MBA from California State University - East Bay. Her history in the industry began with plant engineering and expanded into quality control a few years later. She has managed the permitting of a Greenfield plant site, aided in the startup of a brand new aggregate plant, and most recently has been leading her department towards quality and efficiency improvements in the company's materials product lines and cold-in-place recycling programs.  She currently serves on the Industry Co-Chair for the Caltrans Rock Products Committee and on the Board of Directors for the California Asphalt Pavement Association.

This presentation will cover the basics of how asphalt plants operate and what can cause poor asphalt pavement issues in the field.
