Welcome!

Time for some April showers!  We're so ready for spring, and we'll be celebrating the warmer weather with a glass of our favorite Martin Ulisse wine!

If you haven't already, we invite you to check out our new website - www.martinulisse.com!

All stainless steel fermentation allows the true character of the chardonnay grape to shine. Crisp green apple with a mild buttery finish, this chardonnay is a gem of Italian chardonnays.

White Wine Lemon Butter

Fish w/Lemon Butter
Our home office is located in Corpus Christi, Texas and we get great fresh seafood down here pretty much year round.  This is a great sauce to serve over fish, but it goes equally well with shrimp or chicken!  The fancy term for this sauce would be a beurre blanc.  Classically a beurre blanc would not have the heavy cream, but the addition of the cream makes this sauce almost foolproof.

Martin Ulisse Sangiovese

Sangiovese

Made from 100% Sangiovese, the main varietal in Chianti, this Old World red is a true Italian classic. Medium bodied with solid tannins, this fruit forward wine is sexy yet rustic with dark fruits and berries. Pleasant acidity and a lingering finish allows this to be a solid table wine. Pairs well with pastas, Italian marinara, meat sauces, pork and red meat.

Featured Recipe Pairing -

Pollo alla Contadina

Pollo ala Contadina

"Country style chicken" or "chicken as the farmer's wife would make it" is an excellent and easy addition to your Italian repertoire.  In its most basic form it is chicken stewed with mushrooms, potatoes, tomatoes, and rosemary.  Traditionally it is made and served with white wine; however, I am going to use red wine - thank you Julia for introducing me to Coq au Vin.  You may also substitute rabbit or duck for the chicken and get great results.

The smell of young wine is called an "aroma" while a more mature wine offers a more subtle "bouquet."
