From the Principal's Notepad

Dear Parents,
How do we witness? We know from the Gospels, Acts of the Apostles and Paul's letters how the very first people saw and heard the outcome of the Good News witnessed. That Witness passed down in Sacred Words and Sacred tradition continues to be an invitation to us all.
As we complete our Lenten journey, pray and reflect during these Holiest days of the year to prepare for the Gift that is Easter, we pray that our thoughts, actions and words make us all better witnesses. This Gift of the Good News we have received is easy to pass on to our families and others. As Pope Francis said in helping us to prepare for Easter last year, "Allow the victory of Christ to be affirmed in our lives and pass it on....Jesus gave himself on the Cross taking the burden of our sins upon himself...then in the resurrection, he triumphed over them, took them away, and opened before us the path to rebirth and to a new life allowing our word and actions to flow from this great gift." Have a Blessed Easter Break.
Items of note as we head into the last 7 weeks of the 2014-2015 school year: Good luck to our Baseball, Softball, Tennis and Track teams as they head into the district playoffs; Good luck to Latin as they head to state competition in Orlando, and wishing drama "break a leg" as they finalize preparations for
Annie Jr. on May 1st and 2
nd;. Join us for Spring Fine Arts Night on April 30
th, when in addition to recognizing St. Francis students' works, and enjoying band, glee and drama performances, we will also recognize Epiphany, Queen of Peace and St. Patrick's students outstanding works of Art.
Join us also for the 4th Annual Wolves Golf Classic tournament to support student activities on April 18
th. (See below to register to play.) This event supports all student activities, like our Wolfbotics robotics team which finished 34
th out of 64 at its March Regional competition. Congratulations!
Finally, St. Francis will be hosting the Bishop's listen session on the Common Core on Saturday, May 2, from 2-3:30pm. This listening session is led by fellow principal, Deacon David Yazdiya and his panel. All pre-K to grade 12 families are welcome.
Peace,
Ernie Herrington
