FEARLESS
Poem by Abigail Jacobson, 4th Grade, Valerius Elementary

Adventure through the never ending,
Slice right through,
To get to what you want to

How far you’ll go,
Only you will know,
Stomping through the undergrowth

We'd like to bring your attention to an upcoming event in our community focusing on mental health and sponsored by the Urbandale Lions Club. On Thursday, April 20, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Urbandale High School Media Center, community leaders, health care providers, and front-line service providers will share information and conversation about what you can do to help yourself, a loved one, and your community. When we are aware of the challenges facing our neighbors and aware of the resources that can help, we are stronger together.

Speakers include: Janice Landy, MD, Psychiatry, Section Chief, Broadlawns Medical Center; Andrea Bloch, DO, Psychiatry, Broadlawns Medical Center; Michele Hamilton, Coordinator of Student, Family and Community Services, Urbandale Community School District; Ross McCarty, Police Chief, Urbandale Police Department; Jerry Holt, Fire Chief, Urbandale Fire Department; David Sickelka, Senior Pastor, Urbandale United Church of Christ; and Matt Connolly, Broker Associate, Iowa Realty.

For more information, please see the Support Urbandale: Front Line Services and Mental Health flyer.
