SERVING AT WOODLAWN
Galatians 5:13 tells us, "You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love." When God created the church, it was to serve the needs of others so that they might know that same freedom Christians have experienced as is spoken about in Galatians.

Woodlawn is a tremendous place to worship but there's so much more to church than just showing up on Sundays. If you want to connect with the church the way Christ has intended, plug into a place to serve! There are countless opportunities listed on our website. Click SERVE to browse & get connected to the greater vision of the church by serving others in order to make transformed followers of Jesus Christ. The amazing part is, when we help others be transformed, we are transformed ourselves.  We look forward to serving alongside you!  Feel free to contact Cameron with any questions at cameron@woodlawnpcb.org.

WOODLAWN WAY
Are you feeling disconnected from Jesus? From the church? God created us for fellowship & at Woodlawn, we are all about connecting to God spiritually & to others through fellowship. Whether you're a member of the church or want to know more about membership, The Woodlawn Way is the place for you. This is a one time class that walks you through who we are as a church, our vision, mission, values, & strategies for ministry. Join us on Sunday, April 23rd from 8:30-10:30am in ED114 & let's move forward into God's preferred future together. Email Cameron at cameron@woodlawnpcb.org, fill out a connection card & drop in the offering basket, or call the church office to register. See you there!

AWF UMM SPRING ADVANCE 2017
We rejoice that another year has come and provides us the opportunities to work together to declare the centrality of Christ in every man's life.

We have an exciting opportunity for the men of the AWF Conference at our Annual Men's Advance Spring Meeting, April 21st-22nd at Blue Lake Methodist Camp. Our keynote speaker for this year's Advance is a dynamic speaker who lives and encourages the growth of Men's Ministry. David Dusek is Founder & Executive Director of Rough Cut Men Ministries. Rough Cut Men is NOT a program or a presentation or a Bible Study. It is an interactive experience that integrates full-blown Hollywood action movie clips (high masculine content), relevant current events, stories of guys just like us and Biblical principles designed as specific life application skills from God.

Our own Bishop, Bishop David Graves, will join with us and deliver the closing message on Saturday morning. Additional information and registration materials will be available shortly. Save the date, April 21st-22nd, and join the men of AWF Conference for an outstanding event.

We look forward to you attending the meeting and sharing with your fellow United Methodist Men.

WE CARE
Regardless of the fact food items move off our shelves as fast as it comes in we are always able to serve those who come in for assistance. This is only possible due to your continual support through monetary and food donations. The month of April we are in need of Beefaroni, hamburger helper, pancake syrup, canned gravy and mayonnaise. Our thanks to all of you for your ongoing generosity.
WOODLAWN GARDEN
We are now accepting families to join in the Woodlawn Garden. The garden is located on the West side of our property. Grow your own fruits, vegetables, or flowers in the plots we have for you. We offer plots with soil or straw bales. You can grow for your own family, for others, or for the We Care food pantry. In a few weeks we will also have some seeds here at the Church you are welcome to use in the Woodlawn Garden.  Plots are limited so sign up now.

There is no cost to participate in the Garden but donations are accepted to continue this project. To sign-up for a plot please contact Janet at janetcwilliams@knology.net. For garden information or if you have questions contact Dennis at babaweb1@yahoo.com.

THE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER'S KIDS CORNER
This past month, the CDC classes had St. Patrick's
Day and Read Across America parties. The entire school read as many books as they could and celebrated with a pizza party! The three and four year old classes also had a green eggs and ham breakfast where families joined their children for breakfast, reading, and a Dr. Seuss movie day! It was a fun time for everyone! A local author, Shannon Otwell, came to read to the kids that day as well. His new book, The Treehouse Adventures of Nate-Nate and Maxie Dog is for sale at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Books-A-Million if you're interested in buying it.

The children have also been enjoying weekly chapel and music class with Mr. Bill and Mrs. Cassidy! They love to sing and play instruments. It's amazing to watch them praise and worship! We would like to thank our music teachers and The Wesley Burnham Foundation for making this possible for these kids!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HELEN VALENTINE!
Member Helen Valentine will celebrate her 100th birthday on April 6th. She is very excited and for several years now she has talked about how she is almost 100. Please keep her in prayer for good health so she can enjoy her special celebration.

Helen & her husband Bill started attending Woodlawn at the old church. Bill sang in the choir in the old church and both of them were active at the old Noah's Ark. They had both moved to Mathison Center and Bill has since passed. Helen is currently at Summers Landing. It would be great to flood her with cards for her 100th birthday from her Woodlawn church family; so be on the lookout for cards to buy or make to send to her for April 6th. You can either bring your cards to the church office for delivery or you can mail them to the following address.

COLUMBARIUM -
WOODLAWN MEMORIAL GARDEN
A Sacred Place Where People Are Remembered
What is the  Woodlawn Memorial Garden?
Woodlawn Memorial Garden is home to our columbarium, a free-standing structure comprised of niches or compartments in which urns containing cremated remains are placed. Each niche is enclosed by a stone front, on which the name and years of birth and death of the deceased are engraved.

Why is the columbarium  important to me?
It provides peace of mind. Being prepared means your loved ones won't have the burden of trying to manage your wishes and the cost that goes with it. It is accessible and comforting and is the only columbarium in Panama City Beach.

Who may be inurned  in the columbarium?
  • Members of Woodlawn United Methodist Church
  • Immediate family of Woodlawn UMC members
  • Members of another UMC in the Alabama-West Florida Conference
For further information on the Columbarium or understanding the scripture as it relates to your final resting place, visit our website at  Columbarium  or call the Church office at (850)234-3196.
