Benefits of retreat at TSC: "Peace, comfort, joy"

It is not unusual for visitors and guests to comment on the 'great vibe' they experience while here at TSC. So much of the positive energy is rooted in the environment in which we find ourselves. As the red bud trees are coming into bloom and the gold finches are brightening their colors, we continue to be grateful for all of you who experience the ministry of this place, and bring a diversity of life experiences to our doors. This past month we (again) had a group of 39 entrepreneurs from all over the country who had never been here before. The space at St. Mary's provided them with the opportunity to imagine new possibilities for their businesses, and a peaceful, comfortable place for them to do their work.

Our housekeeping staff works diligently to assure that the space our guests find is clean, comfortable, and in order.
Barb Martin has been on the staff of TSC since its inception 7 years ago, and ten years prior to that served on the staff of St. Mary's when it was a nursing home. In addition to her housekeeping responsibilities, Barb will help in the kitchen baking and making breakfast as the need arises. She is also an avid reader. We are grateful to Barb for her years of ministry on this campus.

In the words of one guest, TSC is a "peaceful environment that allowed relaxation and the feeling of being at peace."  We desire this to be true for everyone who crosses our threshold.

To book a personal or group retreat or conference, please contact Anne or Toni at [email protected], or call 513.771.2171.

Walking the Holy Way
Maundy (Holy) Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday are three of the holiest days of the Christian year, referred to as "the Triduum" because it encompasses the three days prior to Easter.

Throughout the three days, the Community of the Transfiguration, like other Christian communities, holds worship services in the tradition of the Episcopal Church's Book of Common Prayer. The sisters wrap these liturgical celebrations in 24 hour prayer vigils.

If you would like to pray at the 'garden' and at the 'tomb' between Maundy Thursday and the Easter Vigil (on Saturday night), or if you would like to come to a quiet place to experience any part of these three days and Easter Sunday, we welcome you.  You may register on line  or contact [email protected] or call 513.771.2171 by April 12.  Rooms for personal rest and refreshment will be available in Beth-Anna Cottage at no charge. Donations are welcome.

The Rt. Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori will lead a retreat September 29-October 1

The environment has been a passion of Jefferts Schori since before her ordination to the priesthood in The Episcopal Church in 1994. Prior to her ordination she taught at Oregon State University, and was an oceanographer with the National Marine Fisheries Service in Seattle. In 2001 she became Bishop of Nevada, and in 2006 Jefferts Schori became Presiding Bishop and Primate of The Episcopal Church.

As author of several books, Katharine Jefferts Schori has been teaching throughout her career. She appears in the Day 1 Faith & Science Series 3 on YouTube.

Registration is open for this retreat:

We believe having information about our space at your fingertips during a visit is an important part of the ministry of hospitality. St. Mary's and Beth-Anna retreat houses are now 'sporting' new Guest Information Books in each sleeping room and in common areas. We hope this information will support you in your time of rest and refreshment.
Blessings to you all.
