The South River Fly Fishing Expo is held on the banks of the South River near Downtown Waynesboro. The South River is a popular destination for fly anglers due to the great fly fishing opportunities and ease of access. One of the goals of the Expo is to provide funding for continued conservation habitat improvement efforts on this great fishery.
This FREE annual event takes place river-side in Constitution Park South. Activities include Reptile World shows, Stream Safari, presentations by the Wildlife Center of Virginia, Fish and Fun Rodeo, Farmer's Market, canoe rides, kids arts & crafts, Stream electro-fishing with DGIF and is capped off by the ... Great South River Duck Race!! Rain or shine. No pets allowed.
Experience the best views in the Shenandoah Valley on this 13.1 mile point-to-point course connecting Augusta County's Stuarts Draft Park to Waynesboro's Ridgeview Park. Gently rolling hills, mountain vistas and beautiful serene river crossings make this Park to Park course a must-do spring race. The race will be completely supported with fully stocked aid stations and a post-race party at the finish line.
Buses will take runners from Ridgeview Park to the start line beginning at 5:30 AM. The last bus will depart Ridgeview Park at 6:30 AM.
