Please join us for a Fundraising Workshop on Saturday, April 22 from 8:30 to 11:30 am at the Anthem Civic Building. We will brainstorm how to raise money for the rescue and create a plan for the next year. Since we are getting an early start we'll have coffee and donuts to wake us up! We need to know how many people are attending so we're sure to get a big enough room. Please send a quick RSVP to let us know you'll be there.
We need your ideas and creativity, with an emphasis on fundraisers that do not require a large financial output and many volunteers, such as dinner/auctions. With all ideas we need to consider the potential payoff, the number of volunteers needed, and supporter fatique. If you can do advance research into your ideas, that would be appreciated.
Things to keep in mind:
  1. With our non profit status we have to be cautious about teaming up with businesses to raise money, known as Cause Related Marketing.
  2. Tied into CRM are sales of products such as Benefit Wines. The downside being that the rescue only receives a portion of what the supporter has spent. So instead of donating $20 directly to the rescue, they support us by purchasing a bottle of wine, which gives us less.
  3. Similarly, with low return fundraising apps such as Woof Trax, the supporter may believe their effort is raising a lot of money, and may not be as inclined to donate directly to the rescue.
  4. Raffles require a permit. An alternative is to offer a free ticket, which was done when we ran an online raffle in 2015. The request for a free ticket had to be mailed in, and no requests were received.
  5. Online fundraising ideas are welcome, but we want to limit the type of fundraisers that require our FB followers to take action, like voting.

LOW COST CLINIC

The next Low Cost Vaccination & Microchip Clinic will be held on Saturday, April 29 from 9 am - 12 pm, and a few more helpers are needed. These clinics make it possible for everyone to have their cats and dogs vaccinated and microchipped. Please follow this link to read more and sign up to help. Thank you!
KITTEN SEASON IS COMING!

Foster families for cats and dogs are needed 365 days a year. Our volunteers work every day trying to reunite lost pets with their owners. Until the owner is found - and possibly if it's not - foster familes take care of the pets.

Kitten season should blast off at any time, so kitten and cat fosters need to be ready. Join our Volunteer & Foster FB page, and watch for posts asking for fosters. Be sure you have already filled out a Foster Application then if you see a pet you can help, comment on the post and the coordinator will tell you the next steps to take.
