Pastor Search Committee Survey - The DEADLINE is Tomorrow!

A letter and  electronic survey was emailed to everyone in the congregation by the Search Committee this week.  This is a first step in gathering the congregation's input.
(If you missed it, please click here.)

To go directly to the survey itself, please click on the link below or copy and paste the address into your web browser.   https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2X3LD5Z

Electronic replies are preferred, but hard copies of the survey will be available at the Connection Hub on Sunday for those who need them. Please note the survey closes on Friday, April 29.

We also have a prayer request.  Would you consider lifting up the Pastoral Search Process as well as the Committee in prayer at 9P each evening?   Specifically, please pray for: 1) Discerning God's will for our church, 2) Guidance in determining God's desire for our church ministries, 3) Wisdom on how we can best be in step with the Holy Spirit.

Thank you,
The Senior Pastor Search Committee

Capital Campaign - "Restoring in Faith"
Marty Bodley, TCC's moderator, updated the congregation last Sunday on the plans to begin a capital campaign, "Restoring in Faith", and the plan to proceed with Phase 1 of the Facilities Master Plan as voted on by the congregation last spring.  The Board feels it is prudent to begin fund raising and work on the initial phases of the plan prior to a new pastor coming on board.  This may make TCC more appealing to a senior pastor candidate, as he or she would not have to begin their tenure asking for monies for a capital campaign.
Phase 1 included retrofitting the "new building" with office space and moving the staff over from the Ewing Building and is estimated to cost approximately $150K.  We have already received early commitments of $100K and we are now looking to the rest of the congregation to pray about and consider donating to this first phase of the campaign. Periodic updates on fund raising efforts and the project will be given to the congregation.
If you would like to make a pledge or donation, please contact Aimee Mury at [email protected]  or Debbie Wilson at [email protected].  If writing a check, please include "Restoring in Faith" in the memo line.

Volunteer Opportunities

TCC runs on volunteers! Please visit the TCC "How to Serve" webpage at http://www.tccwayland.org/serve.php for more information.   Here are a few current opportunities:

Additional Ushers Still Needed...
Our mission:   To welcome every visitor and member to the house of God!

What is needed : Ushers are absolutely critical in helping newcomers form their first impression of TCC. You help set the tone for the worship experience to come. You are representatives of God's kingdom.  You're not just opening doors, providing information, handing out bulletins or collecting the offering, you are making people feel welcome!

Could you help ONE  Sunday morning a month?  Please contact Debbie Wilson at [email protected] or 508-358-7717.

Volunteer Offering Counters Needed ...
Are you accurate and reliable?  Volunteers count the weekly offering (mostly checks for deposit) each Sunday, and we are in need of new helpers.  Offering counters work in pairs.  Contact Aimee Mury at [email protected] or 508- 358-7717, x303 if this might be a way you could help us.  Training provided!

Coffee Hour needs YOU!
If you enjoy having a cup of coffee while chatting with others between Sunday services, please sign-up (alone or with your Small Group) to host a coffee hour!   You don't even have to provide snacks - just make, set up and then clean up the coffee and tea ! ( Easy instructions provided - click here to see what is involved!)
Participation gives you and your group an opportunity to serve the Lord and is greatly appreciated by your fellow members.
Please sign up at the Connection Hub this Sunday or contact Robin Spinale, our new Coffee Hour Coordinator at [email protected]!

Missions Committee
Do you have a heart for missions? Would you consider serving on the Missions Committee?
The committee meets monthly to distribute church funds to missionaries and mission organizations that are involved with college, regional and foreign ministries. We address short term missions and one-time requests as well. The committee members correspond with these missionaries in the field to follow their progress, make sure their needs are met and their prayer requests addressed.  It is the committee's responsibility to keep the congregation updated on missionaries we support; to report on progress, activities, needs, and prayer requests.
If you would like to volunteer or find out more information, please contact Carolyn Lippmann, Committee Chairperson, or David Jenkins, committee member, at [email protected] or 508-358-5406 and [email protected] or 508-380-4015.

Thanks for reading and hope to see you this weekend.
Sincerely,

Debora Wilson
