... To Justin and Kimberly Geiger on the birth of their daughter, Emma Kate, March 11. Emma Kate is the granddaughter of Lynda & E.A. Graves and the great-granddaughter of Jim Graves. 

...To Jerwanne "Jay" Hester and Lee Yates, of Fernandina Beach, on their wedding, March 15. 

...to Brooke and Cameron Foster on the birth of their daughter, Essie Lynn, March 25. Essie is the little sister of Knox and the granddaughter of Wayne and Dale Foster. 

OUR SYMPATHY
...to the family of Ed Brannam on his death, March 3. Ed was a member of Lakewood UMC for 52 years and was predeceased by his wife, Joyce. He is survived by his two sons, Ronald and Scot Brannam.

...to Beth Cook and her family on the death of her husband, Brian, March 5. Beth and Brian, of Tennessee, were attending LUMC while he was receiving treatment at the Mayo Clinic.

These 7-week groups will begin April 6th as part of our Wednesday Night Experience. Dinner is from 5:15 - 6:00 pm. Groups will meet from 6:10 - 7:25 pm. You can sign-up on Sundays in the back of the church. Here are the selections.

Trials, Temptations, Tribulations, and Trouble with Nettie Cribb: 
What makes us who we are?   Life lessons from Max Lucado, the Bible, 
other sources, and our own experiences  will be used.

The Overnighters with Bryan Amerling: This video based series will journey 
 the roads of living out our faith in dangerous ways and see what questions we must face.

Mark Unplugged with Rev. Scott Farman: Just bring your Bible and 
walk through the Gospel of Mark in a casual and unscripted atmosphere.

Common Ground with Rev. Eric Williams: This group is 
open to all every week with a new topic to 
make sure that everyone can participate in our discussion.

It was a great day in the CAC when the men picked up the bean bags and got competitive.

Youth Main Event Sat.,  April 30

The Main Event, Lakewood's annual Silent Auction to benefit the 2016 Youth Choir Tour trip to the Bahamas, will be happening on Saturday, April 30, 5 - 8 pm. We are very excited to offer an evening of fun, fellowship, great food, and an opportunity to bid on numerous items.  Entertainment will be provided by LaVilla School of the Arts Vocal Department, featuring some wonderful and talented young voices. There will be light appetizers, heavy appetizers and dessert served. Join Linda Fralick on Mondays and Fridays from 9:00 am - 9:45 am for a fun, safe, and user-friendly fitness routine. GRADUATING?
If you or someone you know is graduating  and is a part of the Lakewood family, please contact the church office by Wednesday, June 1, so we can list your name in the Graduation bulletin on June 12.

U.C.O.M. - FOOD DRIVE - FILL THE SHELVES!! 
Our food pantry is bare and we need your help in filling the shelves!  The most needed items are canned meat, canned vegetables, dry beans & rice, instant mashed potatoes, breakfast items (cereal, grits and oatmeal), spaghetti sauce & noodles, macaroni & cheese, Ramen noodles, and peanut butter and jelly. Please leave your donations in the back of the church, in front of the church office, or in the reception area of the CAC. Thank you!

MISSION TRIPS 
The Sager Brown Mission Team is selling two kinds of quiche  (spinach or bacon and cheese) to help pay for their mission trip in July. Tickets ($10) are on sale now in the CAC during the breakfast hour and also after the 11:00 worship service. Quiche may be picked up in the CAC on April 10 after both worship services. Appalachian Mission Trip
There will be an Appalachian Mission Trip July 31 - August 6. Please contact Bob Weaver at 305-9110 for details.
