Important: The Fox Fitness Center and the Ringe Squash Courts will close at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, April 26 in preparation for Penn Relays. Normal hours will resume at 9 AM on Sunday, April 30.

Pottruck Shutdown Week: May 22-28

The Pottruck Health & Fitness Center will close from May 22 to May 28 for cleaning and maintenance. During this time there will be no programs, open recreation or pool access-the entire facility will shut down. Fox Fitness and the Franklin Field Track will remain open during that week for your fitness needs.

AQUATICS:
Stroke School: Freestyle
April 30, 10:15 am to 11:45 am
Freestyle is the most used stroke for swimmers today. It's an easy, flowing stroke that can be used for miles. In this class, we will work on making your stroke  and kick more technically sound, allowing you to swim longer distances with a more efficient stroke.



Lifeguard Certification Class: 
April 20-23; Registrations Closes April 14, 2017
May 11-14, Registration Closes May 6, 2017
The Lifeguard Certification Course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic, breathing, and cardiac emergencies, and sudden illnesses/injuries until EMS or other trained responders take over. All participants must be:
  • At least 15 years of age by date of last class session. 
  • Able to pass the pre-course prerequisites which consist of a continuous 300 yard swim (goggles permitted), treading water for 2 minutes using only legs, performing a timed deep water brick retrieval (goggles not permitted).

Les Mills SPRING Launch -  April 10-16, 2017

Introducing Squash Lessons at Ringe!

We are pleased to announce the recent hire of Brad Thompson, instructor at the Ringe Squash Courts. Brad played Varsity Squash at Brown University where he was a Captain and played number one on the team. Since graduating,  Brad has been coaching in the Philadelphia area and occasionally competes in tournaments. Brad is currently a masters student at Penn, working towards degrees in Robotics and Computer Information Technology.

Wilson and Penn to Team Up for 2017 Summer Tennis Camps!

By joining forces with Wilson, this summer's  Penn Tennis Camp promises to be the best to date! 

Long regarded as one of the most popular tennis camps in the nation, the Penn Camp, in partnership with Wilson Collegiate Tennis Camps, will host 9 weeks of camp this summer at the  Hecht & Hamlin Tennis Centers.
