|Volunteers Needed for Solebrate! Food and Music Festival
|The planning committee and Joyce Clark, Volunteer Chair, are looking for volunteers to help with Solebrate! Food and Music Festival. Lend your talents and meet new friends in the community by helping with entertainment, serving beverages, greeting guests and being an Ambassador for the festival. To volunteer as an individual, family or group, go to www.solebrate.com/volunteers. After April 15th, you will be able to sign up for the shift(s) you would like to volunteer. |
A number of churches and neighborhoods are hosting Easter Egg hunts. New this year, 30,000 filled Easter eggs will be dropped from a helicopter at Spindler Park on Saturday, March 30th at 11 a.m. Destination Hilliard would like to wish you and your family a Happy Easter!
Did you know that National Volunteer Week is in April? The actual week was moved this year to April 21st-27th. A good way to meet new friends and become connected and involved in the community is to volunteer. Be sure to attend the Lend a Hilliard Hand Volunteer Fair slated for Monday, April 15th from 5 to 7 p.m. See article below for details.

Dance for a Chance
The Hilliard Darby Key Club is hosting a community-wide fitness event called Dance for a Chance to raise money for The Eliminate Project, a Kiwanis partnership with UNICEF. Dance for a Chance will take place on Saturday, March 30th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at Hilliard Darby High School on Leppert Road. Refreshments and water will be provided. Dance Fusion instructors from the Hilliard YMCA will be teaching everyone some dance fitness moves. Ticket prices are $20 for adults and $10 for high school students.

|Earth Day Activities
Join Hilliard's Environmental Sustainability Commission on Saturday, April 20th for a fun and educational celebration of Earth Day. Activities will take place in the Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park, 3800 Veterans Memorial Drive from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Activities include Green Power Alternative Demonstrator, inflatables, kids' activities, a recycled art contest, 'green' cars, freebies and more! Admission and activities are free.
|Norwich Township Bicentennial Open House
Celebrate Norwich Township's Bicentennial at their Open House slated for Saturday, April 27th from 9 a.m. to noon at the Joint Safety Service Building - 5181 Northwest Parkway Hilliard, Ohio
Memorabilia & photos on the history of Norwich Township will be on Display. Outside will be an antique fire truck, antique pick up trucks and historic farm equipment courtesy of the Northwest Franklin County Historical Society. The Historical Village and Museum adjacent to the Safety Building will also be open on April 27th.
Firefighters will conduct tours of the fire station, fire equipment will be on display, demonstrations on rescue tools, Sparky's mobile smoke house simulator and a children's hands-on fire hose extinguisher simulator.
Area Hospitals, including Children's Hospital, Mt. Carmel, Ohio Health and OSU will offer health education materials and screenings in the meeting rooms.
Tire Recycling will be held in the parking lot, in partnership with SWACO, includes free disposal of up to 4 old tires per residence, as well as information on how tires are able to be recycled and reused.
|Lend a Hilliard Hand
In honor of National Volunteer Week, Destination Hilliard is sponsoring a volunteer fair and reception slated for Monday, April 15th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Joint Safety Services Building on Northwest Parkway. A major goal of Destination Hilliard is to assist Hilliard residents in becoming more connected with their community though volunteerism. This is a great opportunity for high school students to discover organizations they can volunteer with to fulfill their community service hour obligation with the school.
