Danbury Library Receives Award!

The Tribuna Newspaper, a

 bi-weekly newspaper

established in Danbury in 1999, has announced the Danbury Library is the 2015 American Dream Nonprofit of the Year Award.

"The library has a history of welcoming all members of the community to enjoy its services, tailoring its programs to fit their needs. Most recently, the library's partnership with the Tribuna Newspaper to educate immigrants about the CT Drive Only License was imperative to the success of the program in our community. The library hosted train-the- trainer workshops facilitated by the Tribuna and had its own staff trained on how to assist members of the community in applying for the document. Hundreds of members of the community were benefited through these services," explained Tribuna Editor Emmanuela Leaf. The Library will receive a $3,000 donation.

The Library will be recognized at the American Dream Awards Gala on Saturday, May 16 at the Portuguese Cultural Center. The public is invited to attend. For ticket information visit www.tribunaamericandreamawards.com or call 203-770-3708.
