April 2013 Job Post

Poweshiek Iowa Development is committed to serving our shareholders. Workforce is a growing issue.  Pow I-80 has formed the Poweshiek County Workforce Coalition to strategize on ways to develop, recruit and train workforce in partnership with Iowa Workforce Development, Iowa Valley Community College and area employers.

Pow I-80 strives to keep our shareholders (employers) and job seekers connected throughout the year. This is one method to promote job openings, however we strongly recommend supporting local media outlets as well. Pow I-80 has developed a monthly electronic Job Post that will allow Pow I-80 shareholders to promote job openings. This list is being distributed at Marshalltown Community College, DMACC, Grinnell College, and other educational institutions; and IWD-Marshalltown. Pow I-80 felt it was important to distinguish the types of jobs, so two sections have been formed.

  1. Professional Jobs-  careers that pay 100% of the median county wage or more per year and must offer a full health insurance benefits package.
  2. Poweshiek Jobs - careers that pay less than 100% of the median county wage and may or may not offer a full benefits package. Many do offer a full health insurance package.

This service is available to Poweshiek Iowa Development shareholders. Please contact Laura Manatt at 641.236.1626 or [email protected] if you have any questions.
