The 2012 BC Cup Season is About to Start!
Are You Ready?

Greetings!

The past few weeks have seen relentless amounts of rain but we bet this hasn't stopped you from getting dirty and shredding the local trails training for the upcoming 2012 BC Cup race season!

This years' race circuit is starting up in Kamloops for Race the Ranch where the dry conditions will be a nice change from the dreary weather we've had across the province.  Next, we have a new addition to the XC BC Cup Series this year: The Junk Yark Dog XC in Surrey as the first of 3 XC BC Cup Races. Following this race we have the Bear Mountain DH and Red Mountain XC Challenge which were met with unseasonably cold and wet conditions in 2011; fingers-crossed for a few sunny breaks this year to reduce the shock when thrown into the lake.

The race season jumps into overdrive come July where we'll be travelling over 1,800kms from Sun Peaks to Silver Star then to Panorama ending up in Golden BC for the Western Open. Once recovered from this awesome trip, the BC Cup Circuit will take us to Mount Washington for the last XC BC Cup race and second last DH Race.  The top XC Racers will be announced here.

The race season will be concluded up at the top of Hemlock where the top DH and XC racers will be announced.

Best of...
The top DH racers (men and women) will be determined by the best 6 of 8 races.  So, in order to qualify you'll have to race 6 of the 8 BC Cup Races this year.

So gear up for a wicked BC Cup Race season.

West Coast Super D
The Super-D format is the great equalizer in racing: downhill sections designed to challenge DH pros, and climbs straight out of the XC catalogue, all wrapped up in a race that most riders blitz through in around 15 minutes.

For registration, and all the details on the course, including maps and elevation graphs, check out the West Coast Racing web page at www.westcoastracing.ca under 'Race Events' -> '2012 Super-D'.
