April 2018
Summer exhibit: Franklin Art and Artists

Local talent and local subjects will be on display during the Historical Society's Franklin Art and Artists summer exhibit. Art by people of all ages will be on display, June 2 through September 29. Art may be watercolors, oil, textiles, photography, sculpture, jewelry, computer generated, and more.

Submissions to date include watercolor, oils, pottery, photographs, and computer-generated art.

If you're interested in submitting a piece, there's still time. We'll consider it if the submission is received by April 25. Artists must have a connection to Franklin (a current or past resident or employed in Franklin) or the art must be related to Franklin (scenes of Franklin life or history or a Franklin subject). Please download and use this submission form.

Two pieces from the collection will be showcased during the exhibit. One is an oil painting of the Franklin suspension bridge. The other, shown here, is a recently restored and framed DeNise oil painting that's the oldest known picture of Franklin. Prints will be available of both for purchase.
