APRIL NEWS
April / 3 / 2017
Dear Family and Friends of Forest Hills,

As we jump right into Spring, our Life Enrichment staff is busy putting together an array of programming for all to enjoy!

In addition to our usual programming, on April 27th we will be hosting the Age-Friendly DC community engagement event right here at Forest Hills! For more information and to RSVP, read on in this newsletter.

As if that isn't excitement enough, we are looking forward to a big celebration for our 25th Annual Golf Tournament coming up in June. Be sure to save the date: Monday, June 19th at Norbeck Country Club in Rockville, MD. Celebrating a quarter century in style! Stay tuned for more information and your official invitation coming soon.

Finally, I want to announce that after a long and thorough search, we have hired Ingrid Prieto as our new Administrative Assistant. Not only does Ingrid come to us with years of skilled administrative experience in senior living, but she is also bi-lingual in Spanish and English! Once Ingrid has settled into her new surroundings, we plan to expand the hours of the Concierge Desk from 8 hours to 12 hours daily, Monday-Friday. We also expect to keep weekend hours on Saturdays. As always, our goal is to improve service availability to our residents and we are excited to welcome Ingrid to our team.

Looking forward to see you all around Forest Hills,

February 2017 Ceca Award Winner
Maristella Chatman

Congratulations to Maristella Chatman on winning the February 2017 Ceca Award! Last month we celebrated her award at Forest Hills with some of the nice things her peers had to say about her:

"Maristella cares deeply about the residents she cares for and knows them well. She knows their preferences and goes above and beyond to honor their preferences. She has been known to bring them in food she knows they enjoy and to even hem their pants! One great example of how much she cares is that she works with one resident who is very uncomfortable with any kind of change but especially when she has a CNA that does not work with her very often; Maristella is planning a vacation and she has been working with another CNA to be sure she knows exactly how this resident likes things done so that when Maristella is away this resident will not be too anxious about having a new CNA."

Thank you to Maristella for all you do for our residents and our community!
