Spotlight on CUA Nursing Students
Reflections from Community Health training
For the past five years, in our enduring commitment to develop the healthcare workforce, Forest Hills has welcomed nursing students from the Catholic University of America. Students are exposed to all facets of our services, and the benefits they gain are evident in the reflections they submit. Over the next few newsletters, we will share with you excerpts from those reflections, with permission from the students:
"When I arrived at Forest Hills, we went on a tour of the facility. I really enjoyed this because as we were walking around the halls we met many of the residents that we will be seeing and interacting with in the upcoming weeks... Ms. O was telling us about how she went to Trinity University just down the street from CUA. She then continued to talk about all of the popular spots when she lived in what she called "B-land". My absolute favorite part of the day was ...[when] the residents were finishing up their ice cream and the entertainment staff asked us to do a dance and sing a song. We sang 'You Are My Sunshine' and all of the residents loved it as they smiled, clapped, and some sang along."
