Wilmington Railroad Museum World Record Run
|
Railroad modelers from the Wilmington Railroad Museum will attempt to break the record for the world's longest model train at Wilmington's new Convention Center. A train consisting of 34 locomotives and more than 1700 cars will travel on about 1000 feet of track in the Wilmington Convention Center's main exhibit hall. Expected to measure about 920 feet long, this train will surpass the record set by Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, Germany in 2008.
A special feature of this event is the opportunity to sponsor a limited edition locomotive, custom decorated boxcar, or segment of track and to become a part of this history making event. Rolling stock can be personalized with your message and you get to keep it after the event. As an extra premium, receive tickets to the event and watch a record being made!
Track Sponsor: $10 for one foot, $20 for two feet, $25 for three feet Boxcar Sponsor: $25 each, custom imprinted ($16.50 tax value)
