2018 Alkali Flat/Mansion Flat Box Wrap Installations

The Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission is proud to announce the installation of NEW Box Wraps funded in part by Alkali Flat/Mansion Flats Neighborhood Association . A total of 20 boxes created by 17 artists were managed by SMAC. Click this link to see more digital concepts of the box wraps stay tuned for pictures of the final product.

Photography Month Sacramento

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but what kinds and how many stories can be shared during a month-long, multi-county wide photography celebration? The first annual Photography Month Sacramento has officially kicked off and Sacramento365 is proud to be the calendar partner for this regional event! Museums, galleries, and educational institutions across Sacramento, Placer, and Yolo counties are participating in the month-long celebration creating opportunities for venues, photographers and patrons to share a collective experience in the visual arts.

2018 Bloomberg Philanthropies Public Art Challenge

Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission is excited to announce its team will be working with Phil America and the Office of Mayor Darrell Steinberg to submit Sacramento's application for the Bloomberg Public Art Challenge . The theme focuses immigration and migration and decisions will be made by Fall 2018.

Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission’s Any Given Child program is underway, with arts assemblies and residencies in schools and classrooms throughout Sacramento County.

This year, five school Districts (Elk Grove Unified, Galt Joint Union, Robla, Sacramento City Unified, and Twin Rivers Unified School Districts) are partnering with SMAC to bring arts experiences to their students. Since January 1 ^st we have already presented 77 interactive performing arts assemblies in 60 schools throughout the County. Weeklong classroom residencies in visual arts, theatre, music, dance, and literary arts will continue through June.
