Loomis Basin Chamber of Commerce Newsletter
April 2017
President's Message:

Spring has sprung and our New Member and Sponsorship Drive is off to a great start.

The Chamber has welcomed 12 new members since the start of the new year.  We are sweetening the pot with Chamber Bucks.  Current Chamber members can earn $20.00 for every new Chamber member they recruit until the end of April 2017.  Chamber bucks can be used towards membership dues, event registration, raffle tickets and merchandise.  Recruiting new members is easy, just share with them the many benefits you have received from your membership and involvement in the Chamber.  A personal testimony goes a long way in recruitment efforts.

The Chamber is offering Sponsorship Packages for 2017.  This is a fantastic way for businesses to increase their exposure in the community.  The Sponsorship Packages provide multiple levels to meet the various budgets of our sponsors.  Current Chamber members can also earn Chamber Bucks for each Sponsorship recruited by you.  It’s easy and you earn 10% of the level chosen by the sponsor in Chamber Bucks through the end of April 2017.

Let’s all spring into action and earn some bucks at the same time!!!!

Katie Kenoyer | Placer County Business Service Representative
[email protected]

Loomis Chamber Ambassador since 2016.  Works for Placer County providing business and employment services during the week and for Lifetime Athletic teaching swim lessons on the weekends.  A Loomis resident since 2002, I enjoy being active in the community.  Currently volunteer regularly for Stand Up Placer, Folsom CERT, and Girl Scouts, but also really enjoy volunteering at the Manda Run, Del Oro football games, and other events.  I am on the board for the Auburn Chamber of Commerce as well as the Foothill Employer Advisory Board and am a 15 gallon blood donor.  My husband and I have two college-age children who are Del Oro graduates, of course!
I love Loomis!

IF you aren’t NETWORKING... soon... you may NOT be WORKING
By: Brain Hogan

Here’s a few of my ideas and a few “borrowed” from others...and REMEMBER The Chamber suggests you ENGAGE, CONNECT and then count on GROWTH.

1.   Do NOT try to SELL anybody anything at a Chamber event. CONNECT on a social level.            Get one piece of personal info that might come in handy down the road.
2.    Your ELEVATOR Drill should pique their interest to ask a question ...so you can explain          more.   Sometimes I say in regards to our storage business “I help you see your garage            floor again.”
3.    FOCUS on the person you are talking to.  Ask them questions and care about their
answers... and don’t look around for your next prospect. See if you can help them find a       prospective customer.
4.   Find the person that is not engaging with others and engage with that person ‘cuz you
never know who they are or who they know.
5.  When in a group, be the person that asks questions of the group. That sets you up as a           person that cares about more the group than yourself.

This engaging with Chamber members has paid off nicely for our Storage Business and our Logo business.   I met my insurance agent (Ferreira) my plumber (Crystal Blue) my concrete company (Viking)  my Chiropractor (Loomis Life Care) my electrician (KSJ) my cabinet maker (West Pacific) my realtor that helped us get new land for Storage expansion (Patricia Green) my computer wiz (Valley IT)...and there are more.
