This month as Executive Director, I am so excited to preside over my first Community Spirit Gala presented by Tuality Healthcare! On Thursday, April 28, many of our most committed supporters will gather to celebrate the work of Community Action and be inspired by stories of hope, help and change from those we serve. We have a fun evening planned with dinner, music, a silent and live auction, raffles, meaningful stories, and a special recognition for Premier Community Bank. I look forward to seeing you there!
Next week is the third session of our Financial Education Classes titled Hands-On Banking. Attendees will get an overview of banking services and how to use them successfully and responsibly. Classes are free and child care is provided for those who register in advance. Space is limited, so reach out today!
Volunteers from PGE, lead by board member Scott Gardner (back R), helped clean and organize the Children's Room at our Hillsboro Family Shelter.

Many thanks to the volunteers who contribute their time to our mission - your commitment to Community Action is tremendous!
Earlier this month, nearly 300 Community Action staff members came together for a bi-annual meeting with a special focus on wellness. We often say that our greatest resource is our people, and Wellness Day is a wonderful opportunity to come together as an organization and focus on this important priority. Throughout the day, staff took advantage of a number of activities, including:
Access the Kaiser Permanente Health Van.
Participate in fitness activities such as yoga, foam rolling, and Zumba.
Receive an in-depth presentation about our respective Home Base and Coffee Creek Head Start programs.
