Director's Message
Dear Friends of Our Lady of Prompt Succor,

A very Happy Easter to each of you! Our celebration of Christ’s resurrection is one of the very special times when we observe an octave, eight full days in which each day is Easter once again.  Then the Easter season continues until Pentecost, a full 50 days – longer than Lent.

An Easter reflection by Marina McCoy from Boston College points out that it was only gradually that the first disciples could absorb the meaning of the Resurrection.  It takes time for us as well to deepen our understanding of Christ’s presence with and within us and our call to spread God’s love and peace to those around us.

Mary too must have needed time to grasp the mystery of Easter and to grow from being the mother of Jesus to become the mother of us all.
May Our Lady help each of us to mature in our life as disciples of the Risen and Glorious Christ.

Sr. Carolyn M. Brockland, OSU
