Camp Reece is a sleep-away camp for children with special needs from ages 10 through 17 with a low average and above cognitive functioning and adaptive skills.  Our camp is located at Skidmore College which provides an ideal setting for our campers.  We offer a wide range of activities, each specifically designed to meaningfully engage campers while teaching skills, building confidence, improving self-esteem, encouraging social-emotional growth, and, of course, having fun!

Summer State Games- Volunteers Needed!
June 15-17

 
Special Olympics New York is coming to the Capital Region for our 2018 State Summer Games! We hope you will consider joining us in offering this wonderful opportunity of athletic competition to our athletes.
 
Athletes and coaches from across the state will travel to the Capital Region to participate in eight Olympic-style sports- Athletics, Aquatics, Basketball, Bowling, Powerlifting, Gymnastics, Tennis and Volleyball. Venues include Siena College, HVCC, World Class Gymnastics, Boulevard Bowl and more!

Spring Games at BHBL HS
April 28th, 2018
 
Join us for a Saturday filled with Athletics competition as our athletes compete in track and field events. A special thank you to our event directors, the Troy Fighting Irish, Siena Rugby team, BHBL Softball team, BHBL Tennis team, and all of our supporters for this event! Opening Ceremonies start at 9:30am.

             
Summer Games at SUNY Canton

SUNY Canton will once again host the NCR summer Games in Canton, NY. Athletes will compete in Track and Field as well as Basketball and Soccer and Skills.

CDR Summer Super-Regional Games
May 12, 2018
 
Shenendehowa Campus will once again host our Summer Super-Regional Games. With 8 disciplines in 5 sports over 700 athletes and their coaches from around the state will compete for gold.

Special Olympics World Games

The application process is now open for sport officials T he following information will be requested during the application process
  • Personal contact information
  • Sport Certification/License Information
  • Up to 8 Special Olympics officiating experience (year, competition, assignment/position/role).
  • Up to 8 Officiating experience outside of Special Olympics.
  • 2 References and contact information 
The closing date is 25 May 2018.
 
Fundraising
             

From July 1-6, 2018 more than 4,000 athletes and coaches from all 50 states will descend upon Seattle.

14 sports will be offered,10,000 volunteers will be recruited,10,000 family members and friends and 70,000 spectators are expected to attend.

9 teams and basketball skills athletes joined together with RPI Athletics for a full-day basketball tournament for a Sunday full of stiff basketball competition. Congratulations to all of our athletes  and a very special Thank You to Karen Hansen and the RPI Athletic Department and student athletes!!
 
             
 North Country Fundraiser

  Athletes from Clinton and Essex counties had a great time dancing  at the Plattsburgh City hall rotunda dance.
Lenny's Shoe and Apparel presented athletes Bill Bradley and Brendan Jackson with a check for $1000 for Special Olympics New York.
