FAMILIES, GET READY TO EXPLORE THE HARWOOD'S GALLERIES!
Would you like to have a fun, educational and laid-back museum experience with the child(ren) in your life? Come check out the Harwood's Family Guides Program, newly created by our team of highly skilled educators! Family Guides are available for check- out at the Harwood's Admissions Desk, and each family guide will help you and your young companions navigate these areas of the Museum's collection:
- Hispanic Traditions: Explore Bultos, Retablos, Tinwork, and Weavings - some old, some new - in the Harwood's Hispanic Traditions Gallery
- Founders' Gallery - Use your imagination to bring to life works of art by Taos Society of Artists Members and other artists creating in Taos in the early twentieth century. Many of these artists were inspired by Northern New Mexico's sky, landscapes, colors, and native cultures.
- Taos Moderns - Artists working in the middle of the twentieth century experimented with abstract and non-objective art, exploring new color and shape combinations while experimenting with the process of artmaking.
The guides are full of activities that your family can do together, right in the galleries. Strike a pose, hunt for details, and learn a fun fact or two! Whether you're visiting the Museum for the first time or the hundredth, there is always something to learn - and more fun to be had!

Dear Friends,
As we look towards National Volunteer Week, which will be recognized April 12-18, my thoughts are with the many volunteers who make The Harwood Museum of Art the remarkable, community-engaged institution that it is.
Our founder Lucy Harwood's commitment to community service is reflected in the dedication of people who volunteer their time, talent, and expertise to the Harwood in many ways. Some people serve on the Governing Board or the Advisory Council. Some bring the Museum's exhibitions to life by serving as Docents, while others contribute organizational and event planning skills to programs ranging from exhibition opening receptions to
Lighting Ledoux. The Harwood is where many people come together, in a myriad of ways, in celebration of art, learning and community. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the volunteers who make that possible.
See you at the Harwood!

WE LOVE INTERNS!
For the past month, we've had the pleasure of hosting Jini Kim as an Intern in the Harwood's Curatorial Department. Jini came to us from Oklahoma State University, where she is studying studio art. Through previous internships at the Gilcrease Museum and the Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jini gained experience in TMS - the collections management database to which the Harwood recently migrated our collections information. So, we put Jini to work on that project! Jini did important work linking digital images to object records in TMS, and - as we say - "cleaning" the data. Thank you, Jini!

this link for more information about internships at The Harwood Museum of Art.
