We are excited to welcome Grace Buckner to our staff as our new Youth Programs Director! Grace is a Rochester native who has a heart for helping youth in their faith journey and has spent the last 10 years working in various camps, leading adventure trips, and non-profit organizations. She will also be doing retreat hosting and managing our activities.
We asked Grace to share a bit about herself and her transition to Ironwood:
Having grown up in Rochester, MN, I am native to the area and had the privilege of visiting Ironwood Springs during my youth. I graduated from Century High School and then attended Illinois Wesleyan University. After undergraduate, I moved to Chicago and studied at North Park Theological Seminary, graduating with a Masters of Divinity in 2012. I've spent several summers at camps in Minnesota and Missouri working with youth and families, and have served young people through parachurch ministries in Michigan and Alaska. I am thrilled to return to southeast Minnesota and join the Ironwood Springs family. Currently, I live in Rochester with my husband, Zach, and you can often find us biking, hiking, or driving to the Twin Cities to visit our niece and nephews.
