  • Access to your library account and real-time accuracy of the library catalog will be  limited from April 11-13
  • April 14 we will have access to the new SWAN catalog
  • Also on April 14  the PIN you use to access your account will default to the last four digits of your phone number
  • Your default PIN can be changed after you log in successfully
  • We can help access your account or change your PIN

 National Library Week: Shelfies

We're celebrating National Library Week by asking everyone in Woodridge to show us their favorite bookshelves. Take a shelfie and send it to us. What is a shelfie? A shelfie is a photo of your bookshelf - with or without you standing in front:

YA author Rick Riordan's shelfie.
NY Public Library patron shelfie.

Share your shelfie with us and we'll share it with Woodridge. Reply to this newsletter with an email or message listing your first name, a few words about your chosen bookshelves and your shelfie. We'll accept shelfies posted to Facebook, Tweeted, dropped into Google+, sent to [email protected]... Spread the word. Get your friends, family or co-workers to take and send us a shelfie. You can even stop by and take your shelfie with a favorite Woodridge Public Library shelf.

Visit woodridgelibrary.org throughout  National Library Week, April 12-18 , to see the shelfies we've collected.

April's Recommended Resource
Health & Wellness Resource Center
One of the challenges of researching topics related to your own health or the health and wellness of family or friends is finding reliable, proven information. The  Health and Wellness Resource Center is a respected, fact based database that gives you access to encyclopedia-like articles, straight forward medical definitions and short video overviews of important health topics.
The Center covers diseases, injuries, symptoms, diagnosis, drug facts, and alternative medicine. A great place to begin a search for medical information, Health and Wellness allows you to directly share the articles you find through email or to continue your research with trusted Internet sites. Enter your library card number to access this easy-to-search and credible resource.

Art Gallery Showing
District 99 Annual Art Show
The Woodridge Public Library Gallery will host its 6th Community High School District 99 Student Art Show beginning Wednesday, April 15. The show will feature works in five categories. North and South High students submitted their art pieces to judges at each school. From those entries, pieces have been selected for display at the Library. Prize winners in each category will be announced during the Opening Reception, which will be held from 6 - 7:30 p.m. in the Library Gallery.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the reception and meet the student artists, their families, art faculty and other representatives from District 99.

The show will remain on display for two weeks following the opening and the public is invited to view the outstanding student works during regular Library hours. The Woodridge Library is pleased to offer the community the opportunity to support and foster the fine arts goals of our local schools:
