Library Announcements
Library News
The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the selection of Pam Dubé as the next Library Director. Pam is an experienced librarian and administrator, currently serving as the Deputy Director of the Joliet Public Library. In conversations with the Board and the library staff, Pam has shared her interest in working with community members and staff in providing excellent and needed services to patrons. We look forward to welcoming Pam to the Woodridge Library when she assumes her role as Library Director on May 2.

April 5 the library will participate in the Woodridge Town Meeting taking place at the Signature Room. We hope you come stop by and see us, it's a great opportunity for you to learn more about local services and resources.

There will be fun for everyone when you visit during National Library Week (April 10 to April 16). Just follow the butterflies and you'll find small rewards and moments of inspiration, as we highlight areas of the library transformed by the recent renovation.

If you've been thinking of becoming a Friend of the library, April is a good month to join. Learn more about the Friends at the annual meeting on Wednesday, April 27.

High School students--especially sophomores--should note that it is time to start preparing for college, and the ACT or SAT tests. If you know a teen, sign them up to take an ACT practice exam on April 16, and attend College Planning 101 on May 5.

On April 22 the library's Earth Flag, proudly earned through our staff's recycling and "earth-friendly" practices, will be displayed in the lobby for  Earth Day. Go earth!

March flew by in a flurry of Irish dancing, retirement celebrations for our outgoing  Library Administrator Susan McNeil-Marshall, and a host of new and exciting programs and classes. We have even more planned for April, and the library staff and volunteers hope to see you soon.

April's Recommended Resource

April is National Car Care Month. Have you kept up-to-date with the important service bulletins or recall information for your car, truck or van?

Using the Chilton Library database owners can access information specific to their vehicle for:

  • Repairs
  • Labor estimating
  • Bulletins or recalls
  • Maintenance
Chilton's is easy to use; it provides a vehicle selector tool that allows you to focus on just the information relevant to your vehicle once you've selected the year, make and model.

A Woodridge Public Library card is required to access Chilton Library from home or outside of the library.  For more information p lease call Adult & Teen Services at 630-487-2577 or email [email protected]

Access to all of the library's free databases can be found at woodridgelibrary.org under the Online Resources tab.
