Ice-creams in the sunshine, train journeys by the sea, warm hazy mornings, fish and chips on the prom, periwinkles and cockles, dancing, theatre shows, show-bands, the long stretch of summer holidays between June and September. Few places in Ireland evoke such sweet memories of childhood summers as Bray. Bray has had many lives, small fishing village, idyllic retreat for Victorian Dublin's middle-class, major holiday resort, home to James Joyce, thriving town and cultural hotspot. The Arcadia Festival draws on all of these, bringing you theatre, music, dancing, workshops, family outings, exhibitions, live demonstrations, special Arcadia menus, vintage theme nights, community celebrations and much more!
The Arcadia Festival from 8 - 17 June is presented by Mermaid as part of our 10th anniversary celebrations. For ten days we are bringing the town alive with all the facets of its rich social and cultural heritage to help remind the world just how special Bray really is. Working with 39 business and community partners we have over 50 events and special Arcadia menus, offers and promotions.
So, join us for our big picnic on Bray Head, have a dance with us around the bandstand, enjoy a special Arcadia flavored ice-cream from the Gelateria, take in an Arcadia meal & theatre show, join in on the Bloomsday fun on the 16th or Father's day celebrations in Mermaid and Killruddery on the 17th.
It's time to fall in love with Bray again!
