Homeopathic Constitutional Types: Opium (Papaver)

Photo by trilbym "Opium Den Gallery Xue"

Contained in your Emotional Support Dropper is a combination of homeopathic remedies we call "NSOL." These letters stand for Natrum Muriaticum (grief), Staphysagria (anger), Opium (fear) and Lachesis (guilt). Opium is derived from the papaver poppy and, like all homeopathics, it in no way contains any of its crude source by the time we prescribe it. All homeopathic rx from Arcanum Wholistic Clinic are above "Avogadro's Law" meaning that the rx is so highly diluted that chemical science would categorize it as placebo.

As we know, our medical provings are derived from observing someone who has taken a drug in crude form. For example, we've studied those who have taken opiates (known as laudanum several decades ago) for extended periods of time, and patients will share with us the effects of post-surgery painkillers like OxyContin, Percocet and methadone. The most active substance in opium is morphine, named after Morpheus, the Greek god of dreams.

A great image that helps to discern the Opium state of mind is that of the Chinese opium den back at the turn of the last century or two, and even earlier to ancient Sumeria where it was considered "the plant of joy."

Dear  ,

This month we're talking about what is rejuvenating to us as far as lifestyle goes. When I was still suffering lots of my own illnesses, I had the belief that I had to have a house, a mortgage, leave my kids in daycare, drive to work in traffic, work several hours a day (including over-time), drive home, pick up the kids, make dinner and go to bed.

It is true that back then, I hated my life. I hated the tax on my capacity to be creative and spontaneous. I had limiting belief that I was stuck, with no options, or risk starvation and the bank calling me if I forfeit on mortgage payments. It was soul destroying.

Lots of folks I know can pull it off, but as I got healthier, I realized that I was not one of them. I had to find a better way. I began to look for work where I could craft my own hours and work from home. I refashioned my resumé to become a financial consultant. Continue reading here...

Off-Grid Rejuvenation, Naturally

Jeff and I were exhausted. We'd traveled by car from Quebec City to Kimberley, BC in about three weeks, stopping to serve patients three or four days each week. We love our digital nomad life, but we'd overextended ourselves and needed a break. We had a four day weekend coming up, but everything in the way of campgrounds and cabins were booked to the teeth, and folks at the information kiosks were shrugging their shoulders at us ... a lot!

Jeff got onto Airbnb and found us a remote, off-grid, solar powered, Thoreau-like cabin with a wood stove and candles. I teared up when he told me, as I imagined a rest like none other. We packed up the car early Friday morning with our suitcases, charged iPads to be able to both read and write, along with our four boxes of whole foods and drove the thirty minutes north to Skookumchuck, BC.
It's my dream to eventually build on our two acre property in New Brunswick so this was not only going to be four days of rest, but also a living research opportunity and I was really excited. Our host Adam, and his wife Laurie, run Skookum Adventures and will take you river rafting and also show you where the free natural hot springs are nearby if you like, but I wanted to mostly explore their off-grid paradise and what went into its design.
