How does Vitamin-D promote good health?
By helping to: * Control blood pressure and blood glucose, * Support a strong immune system, * Maintain a healthy weight, * Prevent cancer, * Prevent cardiovascular disease and metabolic syndrome. Many people assume they are getting enough Vitamin D, either from diet or from sun exposure. But upon testing, we find a surprisingly high number of individuals have Vitamin-D levels that are much too low.

Book Recommendation:
True Refuge: A Mindfulness Tool for Working with Pain & Difficult Emotions
|
I highly recommend to you Tara Brach's new book, True Refuge: Finding Peace and Freedom in Your Own Awakened Heart. In it, Tara describes being diagnosed with a painful connective tissue disorder several years ago, which limits her ability to engage in many of the physical activities she once enjoyed.
She explains how she used the tools of mindfulness meditation to come face-to-face with her feelings of frustration, sadness and fear. The power of heartfelt acceptance transformed her experience, and the stories she shares offer us a way to make this shift in our own lives when we encounter the inevitable losses and injuries of life.
I am so grateful to Tara for her candor, courage and insight. Please take a minute to listen to Tara describe her inspiration for writing True Refuge.
As always, I send you our best wishes for your optimal health, Dr. Gary Kaplan and Staff
