Saturday 10/07 Asheville Oktoberfest
Need a break from stream cleanups and invasive plant removals? Come volunteer with the Asheville Downtown Association as a beer server at Asheville's Oktoberfest!

Asheville Oktoberfest features 30 brewers, live music, games and other activities at Pack Square Park on Saturday, Oct. 7. Currently they still need second shift beer servers, perks include an Oktoberfest t-shirt plus a free beer at their volunteer social the following day, Oct 8, for anyone that worked the second/late shift at Oktoberfest. Detailed instructions for the role will be sent out closer to the event.

Tuesday 10/10 Town Branch Creek Cleanup
Join us in caring for a creek for the afternoon! Town Branch is a lovely urban creek that needs a little attention. Come help us as we remove all sorts of trash and leave knowing you've made a big difference to the health of this creek.

All tools and trash bags will be provided.
Please bring shoes and clothes for wading in a stream, as well as a water bottle.

Saturday 10/14 Hominy Creek Greenway
The Friends of Hominy Creek Greenway are hosting a workday! Come help remove invasive plants along the greenway and contribute to the ongoing improvement of this tranquil area.

All gloves and tools will be provided. Make sure to bring water and sunscreen.

Park in paved lot near Shelburne Rd. entrance to greenway. Walk down greenway a short distance and meet in front of the workshed.

Monday 10/16 Emma Rd Cleanup
Come pick up trash on Emma Rd with Emma- RiverLink's new volunteer coordinator! We'll be taking a nice walk along the road and collecting trash before it ends up in the French Broad.

All tools and trash bags will be provided. Please bring water, comfortable walking shoes, and sunscreen.

Wednesday 10/25 Azalea Park Invasive Plant Removal
Help us in our ongoing effort to remove kudzu from the banks of the Swannanoa River. Once the kudzu is removed from this area we plan to replace it with native species to create a beautiful and healthy riparian zone where people can come enjoy the river!

We will provide all necessary tools for the job. Bring water, sturdy shoes, and sunscreen.

439 Azalea Rd E, Asheville, NC 28805 We'll meet up at the pavilion on the left side of the main building, while you're facing the soccer fields from the road, and from there take a short walk to our work site.

Friday 10/27 Of Time and the River Art Gala
Asheville’s premier landscape painters celebrate the French Broad River’s rise from polluted obscurity to the defining element of the South’s most exciting city at Of Time and the River IV: the Annual Art Show and Gala to Benefit RiverLink. The gala event will be held at the mysterious Zealandia Castle, the historic 1908 Tudor Revival mansion on Beaucatcher Mountain overlooking the city of Asheville.

We need plenty of volunteers to help make this event run smoothly, so if you'd like to check out this gala for free then take a loot at the volunteer jobs at the link below!
