Enterprise Risk Management for the 21st Century
Dear GW-CEPL Alumni and Friends,

Is your agency prepared for the risks and opportunities of the 21st century? Public sector organizations face a more diverse spectrum today than ever before.   A new risk paradigm is required, one that is grounded in an organization's strategic goals and takes into account the ever-changing operating environment.  The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is moving forward with enterprise risk management (ERM) as a serious priority, as required in the  OMB Circular A-123.    

GW-CEPL is offering an Enterprise Risk Management Certificate Program in Government on October 23-27, 2017.  The program is designed to provide you with the fundamental  concepts and processes, tools and techniques of ERM in the context of organizational change.  The program  will develop your knowledge and provide practical application to your organization.

  • Setting up a governance structure
  • Embedding ERM into the organizational culture
  • Learning tools and techniques to support organizational change

Learn how to assess the effectiveness of ERM implementation in your organization

  • Assess the level of maturity of your ERM process (e.g., beginning, advanced)
  • Assess gaps between identified risks and actual risks
  • Develop a continuous improvement process 
  • Determine how successful you are in mitigating your risks
Target Audience:  Public sector leaders at all levels with responsibility for designing and implementing ERM in their organization.  Also serves private sector risk practitioners, contractors, and auditors who work with government risk managers.
