Greetings!
Which is more important to you when you exercise: to improve your health or your fitness level? Knowing will drive your workout program. Not knowing may lead to frustration and unrealized goals Our 1st episode in 2011 from our broadcast on Women's Radio covers this basic difference and the fork in the road you face when making activity decisions.

Which are you training for: Health or Fitness? Why does it matter?
| |
Can you get fit by training for health? Can you improve your health when training for fitness?
Have you been confused by advice that seems to contradict itself? For example, "take stairs instead of the elevator to make a big difference." Then one day later comes the news "exercise 60 minutes a day in your aerobic zone if you want to make changes." Whoa Nellie, hold on there a moment! (Insert mental whinnying sounds here.) How can these both be true? The answer lies in the definition of advice for health vs advice for fitness.
To get healthier requires "just a little bit more than the day before." To get fit requires more serious (though often fun!) intensity, effort, and time. So it's important to understand what goal you are aiming for-- health or fitness -- in order to sort through the info and set the most appropriate exercise program.
Tune in to Health vs Fitness: Which Are You Training For? for a short message that will clarify an issue that has confused millions and set them on a frustrating path. Clear your path so you can reach your goals and correctly interpret the seemingly contradictory advice that comes your way.
