We hear and read about it every day...needless and senseless violence in our schools, on our streets, in our neighborhoods. 

Let's ALL walk the walk that makes it clear - the time to end the violence is NOW. This Mother's Day, Sunday, May 10, 2015, rally and walk with thousands of caring and concerned citizens in support of creating a more peaceful and violence-free community.

OUR GOAL: $400,000! Your participation will help deliver this much needed and important message. Proceeds will benefit the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute working to stop the violence in Massachusetts and help families who have lost loved ones to heal. Proceeds will also establish the LIVE IN PEACE and REST IN PEACE funds.

GET INVOLVED
1. Start a virtual or walking fundraising team
Set a fundraising goal and increase the impact you make by asking your friends and family to support the Peace Institute with you.  With  social fundraising, it has never been easier to reach your fundraising goals.  The best part is that you can personalize your fundraising team page with your own story and message to show others why the Peace Institute is important to you.  Learn more here.
There are 85 Teams registered so far. Our goal for this year is to have 300!

2.  Register today! 
Registration is now open and FREE. Register yourself, friends, and family   online.  
All participants are encouraged to raise $100 per walker/ $1000 per team as possible to help fund the programs of the Peace Institute.

  

3. Donate today and help us meet our $400,000 goal! 

Give online or by sending a check to Louis D. Brown Peace Institute, 15 Christopher St. Dorchester Ave. Dorcherster MA, 02122. Make sure to write in the memo to which team, if any, we should credit your donation.  

 

4. Be a Sponsor! 

Sponsoring the Mother's Day Walk for Peace will garner positive community recognition, admiration, and support for your business and demonstrate your company's commitment to building a peaceful Boston. You can also sponsor a team.  Learn more here.


5. Attend a Walk Info Session.
Come learn about how to an effective Team Captain. Everyone especially Walk Team Captains encouraged to attend. Learn how to start a team page, pick up promotion materials and find out details about this year's walk.

6. Volunteer! 

Volunteers are a critical component contributing to the success of the Mother's Day Walk for Peace. Volunteers make a difference as their participation and fundraising accomplishments help ensure that we minimize our expenses and maximize our revenues. We need volunteers for Sunday, May 10.  Learn more here.

 We need your help to get the word out!
  • Inform local papers that you are participating. 
  • Tell your friends about the Walk!
